Talkdesk seeks a highly motivated, analytical, and enthusiastic Financial Analyst to join our R&D Finance team within FP&A. R&D Finance is responsible for supporting Talkdesk’s Product & Engineering (P&E) organization through driving cost optimization initiatives and managing spend forecasting aligned to product investment and roadmaps while driving gross margin visibility and improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive day to day financial operations across P&E including headcount tracking, new contract approval and vendor management
  • Run monthly financial close processes including accrual entries creation and actualization process across labor and non-labor items
  • Maintain and enhance existing financial process documentation and drive efficiencies within day to day operations
  • Partner closely with financial accounting, corporate FP&A, and the business to ensure close and forecast deliverables are created timely


Preferred Background

  • 2+ years of FP&A , or relevant work experience, prior experience supporting business functions
  • Ability to adhere to existing FP&A processes and execute processes and create deliverables with a focus on data accuracy
  • Ability to synthesize complex topics to adapt to audiences including product & engineering as well as corporate accounting
  • Experience opportunity in ambiguous and rapid pace environments and making decisions with limited information
  • Advanced Excel formula knowledge and ability to create Excel models from scratch that are repeatable and scalable
  • Some experience building and maintaining financial and decision support models from scratch, along with strong analytical, problem-solving skills
  • Passion for process improvement and challenging the status quo
  • High attention to detail and focus on accuracy and completeness of results
  • Experience with budget to actuals variance analysis and following up with key stakeholders to identify drivers
  • Intellectual curiosity, fueled by a proactive approach to continuously expand one’s skillset
  • Experience with financial systems - NetSuite, Adaptive etc. is a plus

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Primarily office-environment work, extended periods of sitting or standing, computer-based work. Limited lifting, and equipment usage limited to computer-related equipment (keyboards, mouse, etc.)
