What is a Financial Services Account Executive at Talkdesk . . .

The Financial Services Industry (FSI) Sales team focuses on driving new logo and expansion sales within Financial Services & Insurance accounts. As an FSI Account Executive, you will be responsible for establishing the TalkDesk footprint in the Western US, with a specific focus on financial services and insurance target accounts in your assigned territory.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven new logo hunter to join our sales team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of consistently surpassing sales targets at growing companies, with a focus on new logo acquisition in the financial services industry. The successful candidate will excel at strategic value selling, collaborative engagement, and operational excellence to drive new logo revenue and expand our client portfolio.

Ideal Candidate Profile & Success Factors:

Prior Success:

  • Consistently surpassed sales targets at growing companies focusing on new logo accounts in the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated success in positioning disruptive or transformational SaaS solutions to C-level and other senior executives
  • Track record of negotiating and closing 6-7 figure, multi-year contracts with the top 450 banks and 125 CUs by AUM

Strategic/Value Selling:

  • Develop and maintain strategic account plans to drive revenue growth and expand market presence.
  • Craft tailored solutions that engage executives and drive successful outcomes.
  • Showcase competitive edge through advanced sales techniques and strategic planning.

Collaborative Selling:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and channel partners to maximize sales potential and enhance lead generation.
  • Engage internal and external resources to advance deal cycles and foster credibility.

New Account Development:

  • Prospect and secure new logo accounts and consistently exceed sales targets.
  • Utilize creative methods to personally generate leads for new logo opportunities.
  • Independently develop and manage a pipeline of new logo opportunities, aiming for 4x-5x coverage

Operational Excellence:

  • Drive the sales cycle from pipeline to closure, engaging C-level executives and negotiating effectively.
  • Maintain operational excellence with a structured deal qualification framework and sales methodology.

Executive-level Communication:

  • Demonstrate executive-level communication skills, deliver captivating presentations and foster interactive dialogue to influence decisions and accelerate deals.
  • Exhibit thought leadership, handle objections, and navigate pricing discussions with finesse.

Technical Acumen/Aptitude:

  • Rapidly grasp new SaaS technology, showing readiness to discuss solutions with potential and current customers.
  • Commit to continual learning for personal and organizational growth, with a specific interest in Generative AI technology.

  • Drive the sales cycle from pipeline to closure, engaging all stakeholders and negotiating effectively.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and engage in executive-level communication to influence decision-makers and accelerate deal velocity.
  • Keep updated on market trends, learn your prospective customers’ business and maintain a strong understanding of our SaaS technology and competitive landscape
Ideal Candidate Experience and Expertise:
  • 5+ year proven track record of exceeding sales targets selling SaaS solutions to the financial services sector
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial services industry trends and challenges
  • Experience selling disruptive or transformational SaaS solutions to C-level executives
  • Strong understanding of strategic selling techniques and ability to craft tailored messages that align to prospective customer business and economic drivers
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage executive-level audiences
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales productivity tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Primarily office-environment work, extended periods of sitting or standing, computer-based work. Limited lifting, and equipment usage limited to computer-related equipment (keyboards, mouse, etc.)
