Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the development of our software products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering, a deep understanding of software design patterns and architectures, and the ability to mentor and guide other engineers. As the Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing software products that meet business objectives, are scalable, and maintainable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of software products, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet business objectives and user needs.
  • Design and develop software architectures and solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and meet quality standards.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and support to help them grow and achieve their goals.
  • Develop and maintain coding standards and best practices to ensure high-quality code.
  • Identify and address technical risks and issues that may impact the development of software products.
  • Work closely with product management and other stakeholders to develop product roadmaps and define technical requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in software development and incorporate them into software products.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on software development projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on web-based applications.
  • Strong expertise in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, or C#.
  • Extensive experience in software design patterns and architectures, including microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor, coach, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Familiarity with a range of software development tools and technologies, including front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Experience working with cloud-based architectures and infrastructure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality software products.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Primarily office-environment work, extended periods of sitting or standing, computer-based work. Limited lifting, and equipment usage limited to computer-related equipment (keyboards, mouse, etc.)
