Reporting to the CAO, the Director of Global Tax will be responsible for all the tax-related activities of the company, including leading tax structuring and strategy, tax accounting and provision preparation, and coordinating all aspects of the preparation and filing of domestic and foreign corporate, state and local income, franchise, sales and use, VAT, telecommunications and property tax returns as well as other indirect tax filings as necessary. This person will also lead company interactions with taxing authorities in matters of controversy and handle any tax-related audits initiated by such authorities.

What you’ll own:

  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to reduce tax expense, minimize tax exposures, minimize audit deficiencies, maintain a competitive effective tax rate, and refresh as necessary the global tax structure in alignment with changes in the business model and global tax policy updates
  • Maintain an understanding of the company’s global business developments, investments, activities and business strategies, and guide senior management on the various tax planning strategies
  • Collaborate with a broad range of internal partners, including executive management, financial reporting, accounting, treasury, and legal
  • Assume expertise for new and emerging tax issues, both domestically and internationally
  • Drive transformation of the tax function to scale for growth, which includes people development, process improvement and implementation, and effective use of data and technology
  • Provide direction and oversight for direct and indirect tax compliance, accounting for income taxes, transfer pricing, and planning
  • Engage, supervise and collaborate with outside tax advisors on various projects

Experience you’ll need:

  • Masters Degree in Accounting or Tax
  • CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of dynamic corporate tax experience in industry and/or public accounting; Big 4 experience preferred
  • Strong tax research skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to optimally manage both internal and external resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Tech industry corporate tax experience preferred
  • Simultaneously lead multiple projects. Adapt to and prioritize projects based on changing conditions
  • Experience with Suretax and NetSuite preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Primarily office-environment work, extended periods of sitting or standing, computer-based work. Limited lifting, and equipment usage limited to computer-related equipment (keyboards, mouse, etc.)
