Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.4B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

About the role
We're looking for a strategic leader to join Rippling’s Global Payroll Operations team. We are rapidly expanding Rippling to serve the needs of employees and employers all over the world. Our Global Payroll Operations team plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our global payroll products, which currently spans 80+ countries today.
As Rippling expands its product offerings globally, there is a critical business need for Rippling to develop new muscles around global product operations and country-specific payroll expertise outside of the US.
This role, Global Expansion Lead, is a critical hire that will be fully dedicated to rapidly scaling Rippling’s country coverage and building processes to triple our country coverage over the next year. This role will own all strategic planning, launch management, vendor partnership, customer escalations, and process development for our rapid expansion.
This is an exciting role that requires significant cross-departmental engagement with a major impact on the product, customer experience, and internal team.
What you will do
- Drive operations and strategy for Rippling’s global country expansion. You will be a key stakeholder in determining where and how we launch, how we operationalize our product, and how we support our customers. You will be deeply involved in making key strategic decisions in each country.
- Oversee the overall launch roadmap across all Global Payroll-related product lines. You will be responsible for the initial launch (0-1) of a critical new product line and for expanding two other existing product lines.
- Manage the vendor procurement process for essential software and consultative partners in each country. You will work closely with Business Development and Product teams to achieve this.
- Develop best-in-class processes to scale day-to-day operations. Your goal is to create repeatable processes that minimize the potential for manual error. These processes should be easy to learn, adaptable to new use cases, and easy to measure.
- Collaborate closely with Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams to ensure that:
- Internal tooling requirements are properly prioritized and implemented.
- Country-level requirements are clear and ready for software implementation.
- Product bugs and issues (e.g., calculation errors, file generation errors) are quickly addressed.
- Manage key customer escalations and incidents.
What you will need
- 5+ years of experience in management consulting or business operations. We will consider high-potential candidates with fewer years of experience if they have worked at top companies and have a clear track record of excellence.
- Experience working in a fast-growth or startup environment. We are looking for someone who is strategic but also willing to roll up their sleeves to solve problems. The ideal candidate should be adept at navigating ambiguous and complex situations.
- Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills, with high attention to detail. The ideal candidate will produce excellent work, manage time effectively, and execute tasks efficiently.
- A background in global payroll and global market launches is highly advantageous but not required.
- Based in San Francisco.
