About the Role:

Come join us as a Senior Software Developer on Remitly's Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Team! We work across Remitly's engineering organization driving programs that improve reliability and availability. Areas of focus include Observability, Incident Response, Problem Management, and High Availability. You will build and enhance software focused on solving challenges in these domains, and roll out solutions that can be used by all services. Additionally, as a small but growing team, you will help set the vision for where this team goes next, and mentor future junior team members. This role will report to a US-based Manager (global team).

You Will:

  • Evaluate, build, and integrate systems in SRE domains such as observability, incident management, problem management, and high availability
  • Lead large, ambiguous initiatives from inception to planning/design to delivery
  • Identify company wide opportunities to improve availability, and implement automation and tooling to address.
  • Provide technical mentorship to other Remitly teams on how to best monitor their systems.

You Have:

  • 5+ years as a Software Development Engineer (ideally using Go and/or Java)
  • 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure (such as AWS), and infrastructure as code
  • Experience leading collaborative projects from conception to delivery using Agile/Kanban methodology
  • Experience implementing Observability tooling at scale (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, New Relic, DataDog, etc)
  • Deep understanding and passion for SRE concepts, patterns and tooling
