Job Description:

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist I to play a crucial role in managing procurement and contract operations at the Managua site, while actively contributing to global procurement initiatives and supporting cross-functional business needs.

The Procurement Specialist I is responsible for managing and coordinating sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing activities in close collaboration with business owners at the site level, while also supporting global business operations. Responsibilities include vendor onboarding, contract management, purchase order processing, and supplier evaluation.

What will the Procurement Coordinator be doing?

  • Procurement Oversight: Coordinate and manage all procurement activities for Remitly Nicaragua, ensuring alignment with company goals and operational needs.

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to optimize purchasing processes, achieve cost savings, and meet quality and delivery requirements.

  • Framework and Guidelines Design: Collaborate with your immediate manager to define and establish clear processes, procedures, and policies for purchasing management at Remitly Nicaragua.

  • Competitive Sourcing: Oversee and coordinate purchases requiring competitive methods, such as bidding, RFQs, RFPs, and other pricing and procurement approaches.

  • Supplier Management: Lead efforts in supplier prospecting, negotiation, onboarding, and management, including preparing purchase orders, coordinating contracts, handling exemptions, and ensuring the quality and timely delivery of materials and services.

  • Tool Adoption and Training: Promote the adoption of Coupa and its modules, conducting training sessions to enhance proficiency in P2P tools.

  • Purchase Order Management: Support the global Procurement Team and business owners in creating, coordinating, and managing purchase orders and contract workflows to ensure seamless business and P2P operations.

  • Global Collaboration: Actively engage in global procurement operations and projects, identifying opportunities for improvement while supporting cross-functional business needs. Work closely with the Procurement Operations Manager and the Global Procurement team to tackle initiatives, support the business, and other related procurement activities within the Procurement function, in order to drive success.

  • Continuous Improvement: Set ambitious goals and strive for excellence, continuously seeking opportunities for personal growth and process enhancement.

Position requirements:

  • You must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Eng., foreign trade or related careers.

  • At least two years of work experience in Purchasing, Logistics, or Supply Chain. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with great precision and a high degree of urgency with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments where decisions are made without compromising customer experience or financial loss.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in process improvement and documentation

  • Certification in Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain.

  • Six Sigma Certification: Green Belt
