About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Tax Senior to join our growing Tax team and report into our Tax Manager. You will coordinate the preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns, managing compliance for both domestic and international taxes, and supporting tax provision and reporting processes. You will play an integral role in overseeing core compliance workstreams, as well as assisting with a variety of provision, planning, and process improvement efforts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with various internal teams and contribute to ongoing improvements in tax reporting and compliance procedures. This a hybrid role that requires 2-3 days onsite at our Seattle, WA headquarters.

You Will:

  • Coordinate the preparation and filing of global corporate income tax returns and ensure compliance with local and international tax laws.
  • Provide relevant data to advisors and ensure timely and accurate documentation for tax filings.
  • Review tax forms and filings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate and track estimated tax payments, ensuring they are submitted on time.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of certain recurring tax filings, including extensions, tax compliance form.
  • Help with the filing of US corporate income tax returns and other related tax forms.
  • Organize payment and filing of extension requests and estimated payments for U.S. federal taxes.
  • Coordinate, with advisor support, R&D credit interviews and provide required internal data.
  • Help with 174, 382, and other studies required in support of federal tax return preparation.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of state income tax filings, including related compliance requirements.
  • Oversee other state business taxes, including financial statement accrual and tax return filings for Seattle Payroll and B&O taxes.
  • Communicate directly with tax authorities in response to tax notices or audits, ensuring that responses are timely, well-documented, and compliant.
  • Prepare and file forms, including FBARs, W-8/W-9s, Certificates of Residency and other required tax filings.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of tax playbooks and guidelines.
  • Support and identify opportunities for the automation of routine tax processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Master's degree and/or a CPA in Tax or a related field is required.
  • 4+ years of experience in Tax at a large accounting firm or multinational company.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, with experience in pivot tables and formula creation).
  • Familiarity with tax technology (e.g., Alteryx, Netsuite, Jira, Confluence, AI) is a plus.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $92,000-$110,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
