Remitly is hiring a Country Manager to lead our business growth in Canada. We are looking for an experienced, commercially-minded individual to promote the growth of our Canadian business. This is a strategy and operations role involving planning, building, and executing initiatives across product, pricing, marketing, customer service and other departments, and overseeing the management of our Canadian entity in Vancouver. You will be based in Vancouver. Occasional travel to Seattle/US may be required.
You will report to the Head of Americas for this role.
You Will:
- The Country Head ensures that the entity achieves its strategic objectives by providing leadership and direction to the Executive Management team and staff
- Responsible for the performance against the annual business plan and budget.
- Sustainably growing business P&L and driving key performance indicators including new customers, monthly active customers, transactions, volume, revenue, unit economics and customer lifetime value
- Strategy - you will oversee the ongoing views about Canadian competition, market, and customer trends. You will translate regional strategies into specific market goals across multiple functions
- Preparation of quarterly business reports for the attention of the Board of Directors
- You will be accountable for the relationship with Remitly's Canadian Regulators
- In partnership with our Compliance team, oversee, implement and enforce company policies and procedures to comply with relevant anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regulations
- Responsible for escalation of breaches and material risk exposures to the Board.
- Contribution to the development of sound corporate governance practices and mechanisms.
- Act as executive director of the company requiring attendance at board meetings and involvement with specific projects or work requiring input of an executive director
- Defining goals, timeframes, operational and financial KPIs on which progress, achievements and challenges can be readily identified and addressed.
- Drive executional excellence on initiatives and define the right strategic context/clear prioritisation for stakeholders
- Lead building business cases for key initiatives and influence prioritisation of partner-teams' roadmaps through structured business impact / customer centric frameworks
- Cross-team partnership - you will partner closely with marketing, product, pricing, and other relevant teams in Remitly to identify ways to grow KPIs within the region and improve overall customer experience
You Have:
- 10+ years of experience in Fintech, consumer technology, strategy consulting or e-commerce industry sectors
- Previous experience managing complex regulatory relationship
- Experience working in a global matrix organisation and in fast growth international environments
- Grasp of drivers and mechanics for high transaction volume businesses.
- Previous experience with data modelling / analysis
- Ability to generate good quality hypotheses (combining qual and quant insights).
- Desirable: An MBA or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline
- Desirable: experience developing an online strategy (strategy/positioning, traffic acquisition programs, brand development work and product conversion improvement)
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $180,000 - $225,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
