About the Role:

As a Backend Engineer at Remitly Tel Aviv, you will have the opportunity to build innovative products that affect our customers' lives directly, act as a developer on mission-critical systems, and build robust, fail-safe and highly scalable applications for millions of users around the world using the most advanced technologies.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer to join our R&D team to build out our products and services to support new initiatives.

You Will:

• Build performant and scalable systems that will serve more than a Million monthly customers, with minimal computing requirements.
• Build and maintain durable and highly available financial services, while taking into account high data integrity and security standards. You will have the opportunity to build our next generation of Remitly's products from scratch.
• Bring your knowledge to the team and help us grow better together
• Create complex core business logic and flows.
• Build integrations with new service providers and cloud services.
• As a backend engineer, you will focus on resilient distributed systems, which have to comply with strict performance and data integrity standards

You Have:

• 3+ years of experience in building and delivering production code.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent industry experience
• Enthusiastic about building consumer-facing products with great experience, as a backend engineer you have accountability on performance and error flows.
• A proactive person with a keen eye for details, who constantly wants to improve the system and grow
• Experience working with Cloud Providers such as AWS, GCP and Azure
• Worked with large scale systems or data, and have successfully found and fixed production issues.
• Deep knowledge of API standards such as REST, GraphQL, gRPC, etc.
• Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building web servers using Node.js, Python, or Go.

Nice to have:

• Experience developing financial products
• Experience in running, debugging, and maintaining a production environment serving millions of users
• Deep knowledge of security and fraud prevention concepts
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and DevOps concepts such as Gitops, deployment methodologies, and frameworks.
• Experience with building complex workflows with Temporal
• Experience with containerized deployments(such as Kubernetes) and Prometheus
• Worked on a B2C product using data-driven methodologies and used analytics tooling
