About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Program Manager to lead Remitly's Incident and Problem Management program. Reporting to the manager of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, you will be a champion of Operational Excellence across engineering with a goal of driving high availability and reliability. You will lead technical conversations to understand root cause of issues. Using those insights you'll prioritize the top risks that need addressing, partner with leaders up through executives, identify owners to fix those issues, and measures the impact of the fixes. You'll share learnings across the engineering organization and consult with teams looking for assistance in maintaining the high availability of their systems. This role is based in Seattle, WA.

You Will:

  • Oversee the activities of Incident and Problem Management, with a goal of making incidents as short and infrequent as possible. Set standards and procedures for what is expected, support teams in following those procedures, and evolve as necessary.

  • Prepare reports of incidents and system availability. Ensure accurate data about incidents and problems are captured in our reporting systems.

  • Analyze incident post mortems (root cause analysis documents) for trends and systemic issues. Identify top risks that need engineering leadership support and propose projects to address the risk.

  • Present to our executive team key metrics of incident and problem management effectiveness.

  • Lead projects to address risks and improve availability of Remitly systems.

You Have:

  • 8+ years experience leading technical project and programs in a mid/large size company.

  • 5+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS and Kubernetes.

  • 3+ years of executive reporting experience, including presenting to VPs and C-level individuals.

  • Experience with Incident and Problem Management, especially in a cloud environment

  • Understand and have a passion for SRE concepts, patterns and tooling

  • Proficiency with a scripting language such as Powershell or Python to create basic report automation.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $144,000 - $180,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
