About the Role:

Remitly is looking for an experienced Communications Manager to join the Global Public Relations (PR) team. In the role of Communications Manager, you will report to the Director of Public Relations and play an integral role in driving our PR mission, to consistently deliver the most relevant, impactful, and enduring version of the Remitly story to influence positive sentiment and build trust with our chosen audiences. This role will be based in our London office near Warren Street and will be a hybrid position (50% of your time onsite). #LI-Hybrid

You Will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Remitly’s business, value propositions, and public audiences
  • Build and manage PR programs across multiple countries
  • Take global and regional strategies and priorities and turn them into communications plans that meet local business needs
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple PR agencies, maintaining a high quality bar and ensuring PR efforts are consistent with communications strategy and priorities
  • Drive awareness, engagement, and trust building initiatives from concept to execution
  • Conduct active media monitoring, research media contacts, and make recommendations for new and creative opportunities
  • Track campaign results, analyze opportunities for improvements, and compile relevant reports for leadership
  • Support owned content strategy
  • In partnership with third-party agencies, initiate story and pitch ideas to support program objectives
  • Build media relationships and maintain engagement

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in English, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing
  • 4-7 years communications and media strategy experience in a corporate or agency environment
  • In-depth knowledge of what makes news and how to generate coverage
  • Experience creating and executing successful campaigns
  • Experience creating strategies that lead to successful media relations
  • Understanding of PR’s role in integrated marketing and reputation management
  • Strong organizational and/ or project management
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and respond to shifting priorities quickly and effectively
  • Desire to build relationships and partner with colleagues across a range of seniority levels and areas of subject matter expertise
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Experience in crisis communications
