The Role
Remitly is looking for a dynamic Compliance Program Manager to join our rapidly growing team. Based in Seattle, this role serves as a critical driver in enabling Remitly to operate as a licensed financial institution while upholding a strong regulatory standing. Working collaboratively with colleagues in Compliance, Legal, Finance, Product, Operations, and other various teams within the company, the Compliance Program Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting our expansion efforts and implementing project management tools to enhance oversight and resource management. Additionally, this role will provide essential support and coordination for license changes in existing regions, safeguarding our unwavering commitment to regulatory compliance and contributing to the success of our Global Regulatory Compliance Team. You will:
- Lead Expansion Initiatives: Take the lead in executing compliance expansion initiatives, ensuring that Remitly operates as a licensed financial institution in new markets. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Compliance, Legal, Finance, Product, and Operations, to navigate complex regulatory environments and successfully expand our presence.
- Implement Project Management Tools: Implement and manage project management tools to enhance oversight and resource management for compliance and regulatory projects. Streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ensure the effective execution of regulatory initiatives.
- Coordinate License Changes: Provide essential support and coordination for license changes in existing regions. Collaborate with regulatory bodies and internal teams to ensure compliance with changing regulatory requirements and maintain a strong regulatory standing.
- Manage Compliance Complexity: Comfortably handle the complexity of regulatory requirements, compliance processes, and the intricacies of financial services in various markets. Stay up-to-date on evolving regulations and ensure that Remitly adheres to all relevant compliance standards.
- Foster Collaboration: Collaborate actively with colleagues across multiple departments to foster cooperation, open communication, and a team-oriented mindset. Work collectively to achieve compliance and expansion goals.
- Ensuring that compliance and expansion initiatives align with company objectives.
- Regulatory Projects: Contribute to various regulatory compliance projects as identified by the Global Regulatory Compliance Team, offering your expertise and insights to ensure successful execution as well as conducting research on regulatory requirements and licensing obligations applicable to Remitly's business.
- Ad-Hoc Project Support: Exhibit flexibility and a willingness to offer support to the global compliance team on ad-hoc projects. Collaborate actively on various regulatory initiatives, contributing your skills and expertise to drive successful outcomes.
You Have
- Four-year degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Finance, Compliance, Legal). Advanced degrees and relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE, CISA).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management with a focus in compliance, risk management, audit, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements, with a keen interest in staying up-to-date on industry developments.
- Experience with project management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct in all compliance-related activities.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $104,000-$130,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
