About the Role:

Our Consumer Product Engineering team strives to provide the best remittance service on the market, from a customer's first transfer to their 100th. We help Remitly reach more customers, continuously improve the experience they receive with our flagship remittance product, and ultimately earn their trust. This role will be primarily focused on growth engineering, with the goal of expanding our core remittance business with features that drive acquisition and retention. This will be a full-stack position that contributes across multiple platforms and products within Remitly's technical ecosystem.

You Will:

  • Solve technical challenges with a customer-centric mindset.

  • Design and implement solutions for ambiguous and difficult problems involving multiple technologies (TypeScript, React Native, Java/Kotlin, Go) and systems.

  • Guide the team's technical strategy while leading, shipping, and operating full-stack features and systems.

  • Drive engineering excellence by delivering well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions, improving team processes, and contributing to cross-team technical designs.

  • Enhance team talent through mentoring, code review, interviewing, and ramping new hires.

  • Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, designers, and analysts to achieve outstanding customer experiences.

  • Report to the Engineering Manager of the Growth Loops engineering team.

You Have:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in software engineering, with a focus on architecting, designing, and implementing large-scale distributed systems.

  • Strong expertise in areas such as event-driven architecture, zero trust, or related fields.

  • Exceptional communication and technical skills, demonstrating your capacity to serve as a respected technical leader capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • A genuine enthusiasm for exploring new technologies and the ability to delve deep into them to form unbiased assessments and opinions on emerging technologies.

  • Proven track record in mentoring and helping software engineers enhance their technical abilities.

  • Willingness to take calculated risks and acquire expertise as necessary.

  • Able to facilitate a supportive environment for constructive technical discussions where all voices are heard and respected.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $159,090-$189,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
