About the Role:
The streaming ecosystem enables important machine learning, risk and marketing use cases across Remitly. You’ll partner with engineers, managers and analytics leaders to help deliver our next-generation streaming infrastructure ecosystem.
You'll set a long-term vision, and direct the team to make sound engineering decisions and appropriate tradeoffs between shipping code fast and making important technical investments for the future. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager of Data Infrastructure. This is a hybrid position (office location: Krakow).
Establish the hiring plan for the team, sourcing and interviewing a diverse set of candidates
Build a scalable, resilient and high-quality event streaming platform
Set quarterly goals and define a long-term roadmap for the team
Participate in technical discussions and design, aiming to align teams towards a common goal
Have a relationship and work arrangements with teams in the US that ensures transparency and autonomy
8+ years of engineering experience
1+ years of experience managing a small engineering team, including hiring and training engineers up to Senior level.
Knowledge of modern streaming ecosystems: Flink, Kafka, Kinesis, etc
Experience defining and influencing technical designs and processes across a team
Experience working in a global team environment
Have a passion for data infrastructure
Clear and objective writing and in-person communication
