Posted on Saturday, June 15, 2024

Our healthcare system is the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the U.S. Every year, over 50 million Americans suffer adverse financial consequences as a result of seeking care, from lower credit scores to garnished wages. The challenge is only getting worse, as high deductible health plans are the fastest growing plan design in the U.S.

Cedar’s mission is to leverage data science, smart product design and personalization to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. Today, healthcare providers still engage with its consumers in a “one-size-fits-all” approach; and Cedar is excited to leverage consumer best practices to deliver a superior experience.

The Role

Cedar is improving the healthcare financial experience to ensure all patients can easily and affordably pursue the care they need. Our technology improves the overall experience of patient billing and engagement, enabling providers to thrive in a constantly evolving environment while helping patients understand the cost of their care.

We are seeking an outstanding leader for our growing Product Strategy & Operations team. Product Strategy & Operations empowers our Makers Team (eng/product/design/data science) to be as effective as possible. As the leader of the Product Operations team, you will partner with leaders across Cedar to build product strategy and drive outstanding product execution through build, launch, support, and sunset, and develop a team of your own to do so at scale. You will work at both strategic and tactical levels to drive process improvements across our Makers organization and interfaces with commercial and executive partners.

You are both a great teammate as well as a business innovation driver that enjoys results-oriented challenges in a dynamic environment. You not only understand the startup landscape, but you also believe in Cedar’s mission to improve the patient experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Cedar leadership to develop strategy by supporting data driven decisions and leading streamlined cross-functional collaboration at all levels of the organization
  • Support outstanding execution by developing process-light approaches to building and launching products, accounting for cost and impact, and driving continuous improvement with the insights you collect along the way
  • Partner with Product, Growth, and Delivery teams to bring new products and features to market by supporting go-to-market strategy development, execution, and impact assessment
  • Foster outstanding internal and external communication around our evolving product direction including board of directors and cross company reporting and roadmaps, documentation, and release notes
  • Support strategic product initiatives as needed through program management and analysis

Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in product operations, consulting, finance, or similar, ideally in a high-growth and/or technology environment serving enterprise customers
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • Bias-to-action and hands-on experience delivering business results. You're not afraid to roll up your sleeves. You’re ready to get into the weeds when needed, and are willing to learn the detailed ins-and-outs of our operations to improve, build and scale.
  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to lead and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines. Process-driven with a focus on the details.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills. Must be comfortable speaking with clients and senior internal audiences. You have a knack for building relationships with cross-functional partners, and know how to lead projects and ensure that achievements are hit.

Compensation Range and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $199,750 - $235,000
  • This role is equity eligible
  • This role offers a competitive benefits and wellness package

*Subject to location, experience, and education

About us

Cedar was co-founded by Florian Otto and Arel Lidow in 2016 after a negative medical billing experience inspired them to help improve our healthcare system. With a commitment to solving billing and patient experience issues, Cedar has become a leading healthcare technology company fueled by remarkable growth. Over the past several years, we’ve raised more than $350 million in funding from investors such as Andreessen Horowitz and Tiger Global, bringing Cedar’s valuation to $3.2 billion.

As of December 2023, Cedar is engaging with 25 million patients on an annualized basis, and is on target to process $2.6 billion in patient payments annually. Cedar’s ambition is to serve 50-60 million Americans by 2025, about half of the U.S. population that makes medical payments annually. Cedar partners with more than 55 leading healthcare providers and payers including Highmark Inc., Allegheny Health Network, Novant Health, Allina Health and Providence.
