Our healthcare system is the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the U.S. Every year, over 50 million Americans suffer adverse financial consequences as a result of seeking care, from lower credit scores to garnished wages. The challenge is only getting worse, as high deductible health plans are the fastest growing plan design in the U.S.

Cedar’s mission is to leverage data science, smart product design and personalization to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. Today, healthcare providers still engage with its consumers in a “one-size-fits-all” approach; and Cedar is excited to leverage consumer best practices to deliver a superior experience.

The Role

Cedar is improving the healthcare financial experience. Our technology improves the overall experience of patient billing and engagement, enabling healthcare providers to thrive in a constantly evolving environment while helping patients understand the cost of their care.

Cedar is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our Integration Framework squad. As the product lead, you will set priorities and steer product development of our integration framework, which powers the bi-directional exchange of data between the Cedar platform and our healthcare client’s source systems. You will own one of the most impactful and challenging areas of the Cedar product landscape. You will build expertise on more than just our platform, product workflows and technology; you will develop a deep understanding of our clients’ operations that both affect data upstream as well as make downstream use of the data exchanged with Cedar. Your end-to-end perspective of people, process and technology will allow you to set the course for how we integrate complex and sensitive health system data. You and your team will ensure that our patient and operational staff end users have reliable, cross-system access to accurate, up-to-date and secure information.

* Cedar is committed to a flexible work environment, so this as well as many of our other roles are remote-friendly.

Responsibilities

  • Product discovery: Lead product discovery through direct client engagement and desk research in order to better understand use case and drive clarity regarding the problems that matter most.
  • Internal + external influence: In this role, you will work internally across Cedar and externally with Cedar’s clients and partners to drive product adoption and influence integration best practice.
  • Product definition: You will own and define Cedar’s integration framework and the different features that the framework provides. You will evolve that definition over time to meet our goals of building a modern data exchange platform.
  • Roadmapping: Define the roadmap for how we invest in Cedar’s integration framework, balancing short and long term initiatives and communicating longer term strategy.
  • Versioning and migration: As you evolve Cedar’s integration framework, you and the team will also ensure internal alignment on plans for older, legacy integrations to migrate to newer versions of the Cedar standard, minimizing downtime and functionality loss.
  • Build vs Buy: Analyze options to buy, build, or partner. You will use your technical experience working with data exchange systems and insights from interviewing stakeholders within Cedar.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, co-founder or related technical role.
  • At least 3 years of experience building and shipping technical products that manage data.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders at large enterprises

  • Prior knowledge of the healthcare space (providers, insurance companies, tech companies…), specifically within the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) space

About us

Cedar was co-founded by Florian Otto and Arel Lidow in 2016 after a negative medical billing experience inspired them to help improve our healthcare system. With a commitment to solving billing and patient experience issues, Cedar has become a leading healthcare technology company fueled by remarkable growth. Over the past several years, we’ve raised more than $350 million in funding from investors such as Andreessen Horowitz and Tiger Global, bringing Cedar’s valuation to $3.2 billion.

Cedar’s ambition is to serve 50-60 million Americans by 2025, about half of the U.S. population that makes medical payments annually.
