About the Opportunity

Mendaera is looking for a Logistics Manager who will be responsible for the end-to-end logistics function, managing the flow of raw materials, components, and finished products across our supply chain, which will include domestic and international shipping, warehousing, inventory movement, and third-party logistics (3PL) coordination. This role will drive strategic planning, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders—all while laying the operational foundation for scale.

The annual salary range for this role is $117,000 - 132,500.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Design and implement a scalable logistics strategy aligned with product launches, global expansion, and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory) to forecast logistics needs.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve import/export processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
  • Identify risks in the global supply chain and develop mitigation plans.
  • Stay informed on global trade trends and provide recommendations for entering new markets or improving processes.
  • Lead or support projects to enhance international shipping efficiency and improve global customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain transportation, customs, or warehousing risks.

Logistics Management:

  • Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation of materials and finished goods.
  • Manage 3PL providers, freight forwarders, and carriers for domestic and international logistics operations.
  • Develop and maintain inventory movement workflows, optimizing storage, packaging, and distribution processes.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, freight cost, and order accuracy to continuously improve performance.

Team Management

  • Build and lead a small team of logistics and warehouse professionals as the company scales.
  • Complete all administrative tasks concerning team management, including, but not limited to, timesheet approval & schedule validation
  • Conduct written and oral performance feedback with direct reports at regular intervals.
  • Develop SOPs, job aids, and training materials to support team development and operational consistency.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure all import/export activities adhere to international trade laws, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Prepare, review, and manage essential shipping documentation (e.g., invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin).
  • Monitor and adapt company procedures to reflect changes in international trade regulations.
  • Enforce compliance with internal policies, safety rules, environmental standards, and government regulations.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align logistics timelines with production, order fulfillment, and customer delivery expectations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for resolving issues related to delays, damages, or compliance violations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Experience working in the medical device industry is preferred
  • Proven experience with international trade regulations, tariffs, compliance, and documentation (required).
  • Experience with contract negotiations for international carriers and freight partners (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications such as CILT or FIATA (preferred).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations, and shipping practices.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and Freight Forwarder/Brokerage systems.
  • Excellent relationship-building, cross-team collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with INCOTERMS and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Commitment to accuracy and precision under tight deadlines.
  • Startup experience preferred.
