About the Job:

LaunchDarkly, empowers teams to deliver and control software features with confidence. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the Vice President of Global Solution Engineering.

In this role you will be a key player in driving the success of LaunchDarkly's pre-sales efforts. You will lead a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers and Solutions Architects, overseeing the development of innovative and impactful solutions that demonstrate the value of LaunchDarkly's products to prospective customers. This role reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of Solutions Engineers and Solutions Architects, ensuring high-performance standards and collaboration.
  • Strategic Planning: Work with the executive team to develop and execute pre-sales strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Programming & Solution Development: Oversee the creation of repeatable, standardized demos, POCs, and Centers of Excellence that highlight LaunchDarkly's emerging solutions
  • Customer Engagement: Directly engage with key customers, understanding their needs and tailoring pre-sales activities to address challenges.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to ensure alignment in go-to-market strategies.
  • Product Insight & Communication: Stay current on product features and updates, incorporating them into pre-sales activities.

About You:

  • Strategic Leader: You are a seasoned leader with a proven track record of guiding pre-sales teams. Your ability to blend strategic vision with hands-on leadership ensures the successful alignment of pre-sales initiatives with broader business objectives.
  • Technical Expertise: You bring a strong technical foundation, having engaged in programming and demonstrated proficiency in understanding complex technical solutions. This expertise allows you to effectively lead a team in creating impactful and standardized demos that showcase our product's capabilities.
  • Business Acumen: Your keen business sense enables you to navigate the dynamic landscape of market trends and customer needs. You understand how to translate technical features into compelling business value, driving the success of our pre-sales strategies globally.
  • Adaptable & Insightful: As an individual who stays on top of industry trends, you are proactive in anticipating changes and implementing adjustments to our programs. Your adaptability ensures that our pre-sales efforts remain cutting-edge and aligned with the evolving needs of our customers.

Qualifications:

  • Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within pre-sales, with a focus on managing Solutions Engineers and Solutions Architects.
  • Experience in the DevOps industry and aptitude for keeping up with industry trends
  • Strong background in programming and hands-on experience in building demos and POCs.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Bay Area or NYC preferred

Pay:

Target pay range for a Level E1 in San Francisco/Bay Area and NYC region: $272,000 - $363,000 *On Target Earnings (OTE) includes base pay and commission*

*Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits in addition to salary.
