Let’s face it, a company whose mission is human transformation better have some fresh thinking about the employer/employee relationship.

We do. We can’t cram it all in here, but you’ll start noticing it from the first interview.

Even our candidate experience is different. And when you get an offer from us (and accept it), you get way more than a paycheck. You get a personal BetterUp Coach, a development plan, a trained and coached manager, the most amazing team you’ve ever met (yes, each with their own personal BetterUp Coach), and most importantly, work that matters.

This makes for a remarkably focused and fulfilling work experience. Frankly, it’s not for everyone. But for people with fire in their belly, it’s a game-changing, career-defining, soul-lifting move.

Join us and we promise you the most intense and fulfilling years of your career, doing life-changing work in a fun, inventive, soulful culture.

If that sounds exciting—and the job description below feels like a fit—we really should start talking.

We are looking for a Designer to join our Brand team. At BetterUp we know transformation isn’t something you wait for. It’s something you work for. Building a category that doesn’t exist requires grit, practicing imagination, agility, and at times rethinking our approach along the way. We’re building the next iconic performance brand and need a strategic and conceptual designer who takes bold swings and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

As a Designer on our Brand team, you will build creative that supports our marketing strategy and content/narrative, ultimately positioning BetterUp as a strategic partner for growth and the Human Transformation Management (HTM) category as essential for sustained peak performance. We need a strategic-doer who can conceptualize multiple ways into a design problem while ensuring the creative strategy ties back to the brief and business problem to be solved, can take multiple inputs from stakeholders and weave into their design, adapt the content for a variety of audiences and owned channels (social, web, event, email), and always be pushing to elevate the work.

The role will focus on designing digital creative for a range of audience levels, with a key focus on VP+ (emerging CxOs) within our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) with the objectives of engaging and inspiring our audience, positioning BetterUp as the solution through visual storytelling and ultimately driving engagement and adoption. You’ll support creative needs across the full funnel from awareness to conversion, helping to bridge the gap between thought leadership and our commercial teachings. Success will be measured by the ability to deliver and accelerate both brand and business objectives.

What you’ll do:

  • Produce creative, conceptual, on-brief and on-brand concepts that address the business problem at hand, and translate them into user flows, wireframes, design mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.

  • Facilitate the marketing and specifically the brand vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for creative including website pages, microsites, email communications, social content, and paid assets with the intent to elevate the brand, drive growth & conversions and offer remarkable user experiences across touchpoints.

  • Design and deliver wireframes, user journeys, and creative mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces. Design work will include (but not be limited to) websites, microsites, landing pages, email templates and modules, and paid assets. Occasionally support on print pieces for events such as banners or direct mail.

  • Identify design problems and devise elegant, elevated, on-brand solutions. Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features for our channels. Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.

  • Lead the creative design work of our social channels, in partnership with Brand Content. Bring our brand to life through conceptual, elevated social content. Plan, organize, and coordinate with the content lead and cross-functional collaborators to develop our social creative strategy to align with business objectives, announcements, integrated campaigns, and priorities. Report on results on a monthly basis and identify ways to better serve our community, opportunities for optimization, and ideas for future campaigns.

  • Collaborate with key team members within marketing (Dermand, Content, PR) as well as stakeholders across the business (PMM, Product, Studios, Field).

Independent and collaborative work approach:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, marketing leaders, and leadership from key departments.

  • Partner with the Creative Director and Senior Brand Designer to review work in flight, share creative ideas, and collaborate on work.

  • Push to stay on your edge. Lead the sourcing and recommendation of integration of AI creative tools to help with production efficiencies across the team.

  • Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas. Always be pushing the elevation and creativity of our brand design with the intent to build a world-class brand.

  • You know what it takes to get the work done: you excel in a fast-paced environment, and you’re an impact player who’s eager to jump in on any growth projects that need support

  • Be proactive and project manage work in Asana to ensure alignment on deliverables, timelines, approvals, and SLAs with multiple cross-functional partners. Follow up, follow through on tasks and stay organized with work.

  • Balance multiple inputs and translate into robust creative solutions

  • Meet with key partners from the Demand, Customer Insights, and Field/Sales teams to ensure you’re up to date on the priority accounts, customer journey, pain points and messaging approach

  • Work in an independent fashion, solve problems, make informed decisions, utilize AI to do less and deliver more, and communicate effectively with cross-functional partners in high-pace situations and while managing multiple projects

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • 7 or more years of digital design experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments and UX-specific experience. Experience with product companies, SaaS and B2B-audiences is a major plus.

  • A solid grasp of design thinking and user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, usability and accessibility concerns.

  • Ability to iterate on design work and find new solutions efficiently and intelligently based on feedback. You’re passionate about resolving user pain points through great design and you understand that sometimes it takes time to get to the right answer. You’re open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism and work to learn.

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate your design processes, ideas, and solutions to team members, cross-functional partners and leadership in work presentations.
